A father-son duo has been arrested after they were found with a "ghost gun"— a gun made up of the parts of different guns with the serial number buffed off— while a warrant was being served police, Pennsylvania state police say.
Police came to serve a warrant for the arrest of Andre Bernard Simmons Jr., 23— who was wanted for a parole violation— at his father's home near the corner of Ruby Road and Hale Avenue in Harrisburg at 5:19 p.m. on June 6, according to the police release and court documents.
Upon arrival police found the father, Andre Bernard Simmons Sr., 50, was sharing a bedroom with his son where a ghost gun was found— both men have criminal records which prohibits them from having a gun, according to police and court records.
Both men were arrested, and Simmons Sr. was also charged with harboring a fugitive and Simmons Jr. was also found in possession of drugs and faces two additional charges for that, according to court records.
The pair remains in the Dauphin County prison in lieu of $50,000 each with preliminary hearings scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Hanif L. Johnson Sr. at 9 a.m. on June 23, according to their court dockets.
